POLICY
NoorPath is built around one principle: your spiritual practice belongs to you. We collect as little data as possible, use first-party services wherever we can, and never sell or rent anything.
This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to information when you use NoorPath.
The following information is stored only on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch and is never transmitted to NoorPath or any third party:
This data is held in Apple's on-device SwiftData store. If you uninstall NoorPath, it is permanently deleted. If you have iCloud backups enabled for your Apple ID, Apple itself encrypts and stores a backup — NoorPath has no access to it.
Some features need to talk to a server. Here is exactly what gets sent, where, and why.
Computed locally on your device from your GPS coordinates and a published astronomical algorithm. Your coordinates never leave your device for this purpose.
When you open "Mosques nearby", we ask:
MKLocalSearch) for points of interest tagged as mosques near your coordinatesoverpass-api.de) for community-tagged mosquesYour coordinates are included in those requests. Neither service receives any persistent identifier from us. Apple's privacy policy applies to the Apple Maps request; OpenStreetMap's privacy policy applies to the Overpass request.
No personal information is sent — only the Surah and Ayah numbers you're reading. Audio files are cached on your device so the same file is only requested once.
When you send a question to Noor Guide:
noor-guide.noorpathi.com (NoorPath backend proxy, hosted on Vercel; a Vercel deployment alias may be used as a fallback for availability).Your question text is the only content of the request. We do not retain it server-side beyond a short cache used to make popular questions answer faster.
When you type a search query in the hadith feature, the query text is sent to our backend (same NoorPath backend proxy as above). The backend searches the public Hadith API dataset by fawazahmed0 and returns matching references. As with Noor Guide, no user identifier is attached.
This matches the declarations in our Apple Privacy Manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) that you can read inside the IPA.
NoorPath schedules local notifications on your device for adhan reminders, dhikr reminders, and Ramadan suhoor/iftar. These are scheduled by iOS itself — they do not pass through any server. You can disable them at any time in Settings → Notifications or in iOS Settings → NoorPath → Notifications.
NoorPath Pro is sold through Apple's standard in-app purchase system. We use StoreKit 2 with on-device receipt validation. Apple handles the transaction; we receive only the entitlement status. We do not see your Apple ID, email, or payment details.
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled in your Apple ID subscription settings at least 24 hours before the renewal date. A 7-day free trial is offered on the yearly plan for first-time subscribers.
NoorPath does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+ in the App Store. If a child or family member is using the app, they are subject to the same minimal data flows described above.
Because NoorPath does not maintain a server-side user account or profile, there is no "your data" for us to disclose or delete on request. Specifically:
If you believe a network request has carried more information than this policy claims, please email privacy@noorpathi.com and we will investigate.
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this document, change the "Last updated" date at the top, and post a notice in the app's "About" section. Material changes will also be announced in the App Store release notes.
