Terms of Service

By downloading or using NoorPath, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

1. The service

NoorPath is a personal-use iOS application that provides prayer times, Qibla direction, Quran reading and audio, dhikr counting, hadith access, Islamic calendar, and optional AI-assisted Q&A ("Noor Guide"). It is provided as-is for individual spiritual practice.

2. Your use of the app

You agree to use NoorPath:

• only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes
• in a way that does not harm, disrupt, or attempt to access any backend system beyond normal app use
• without reverse-engineering, modifying, or redistributing the app or its assets

You are responsible for keeping your iOS device updated and for any data charges incurred while using network features.

3. Religious and scholarly content

NoorPath surfaces classical Islamic content from public sources (alquran.cloud, quran.com, Hadith API by fawazahmed0, and translators in the public domain or licensed for redistribution). We do our best to surface authentic text, but the app is not a substitute for direct scholarly guidance. Always verify religious rulings with a qualified scholar in your tradition.

The Noor Guide AI feature is a tool that interprets your questions and produces answers from a language model. It is not a Mufti, not infallible, and not authorised to issue fatwas. Use it as a reference and a starting point — never as a final source for matters of fiqh, aqeedah, or personal worship.

4. NoorPath Pro subscription

NoorPath Pro is an optional in-app purchase that unlocks the full hadith library, offline downloads, unlimited Noor Guide AI messages, and additional premium features.

• Monthly — billed every month, renews automatically until cancelled
• Yearly — billed once per year, renews automatically until cancelled, includes a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers
• Lifetime — one-time payment, no renewals

• All charges are made through your Apple ID and follow Apple's standard payment terms.
• Subscriptions renew automatically. To cancel, go to your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → NoorPath at least 24 hours before the next renewal date.
• The 7-day free trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple per their refund policy (reportaproblem.apple.com). NoorPath cannot process refunds directly.
• Family Sharing is enabled — a Pro purchase is shared with up to five family members on your Apple Family.
• If your subscription lapses, premium features lock back behind the paywall and your data on the device remains intact.

5. Third-party services

The app communicates with the following third-party services for specific features. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use those features:

• Apple Maps (mosque search)
• OpenStreetMap Overpass API (mosque search)
• alquran.cloud (Quran text + translations)
• Quran.com API (word-by-word, tafsir, search)
• cdn.islamic.network (recitation audio)
• Hadith API by fawazahmed0 (hadith search, via our backend proxy)
• Google Gemini / Groq (Noor Guide AI, via our backend proxy)
• Vercel (hosting for our backend proxy and launch website)
• Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases)

We are not responsible for outages or changes in these services, but we will do our best to keep features working.

6. Disclaimers

NoorPath is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Prayer times are computed from astronomical formulas and your GPS coordinates — they are accurate to within a few minutes but not certified by any specific scholarly body. The Qibla bearing is computed from your coordinates and the published location of the Kaaba — it is geometrically correct but depends on a calibrated device compass.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific religious interpretation is final or unanimously accepted.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoorPath, its publisher, and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to missed prayers, incorrect direction readings, or AI-generated content.

In jurisdictions that do not allow such limitations, the publisher's total liability is capped at the amount you have paid for NoorPath Pro in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using NoorPath at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access to backend features (Noor Guide, hadith search) if we detect abusive use, but doing so does not affect on-device functionality.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date and announced in the App Store release notes. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by German law. Any dispute will be resolved by the competent courts at the publisher's registered seat, where legally permitted.
